Tahoe City is the center for shopping and out of town entertainment, though the locals love it here too.  Tahoe city has a wide variety of shops and dining choices. Plus beautiful beaches including, Commons Beach right off of the main Boulevard in the center of town. If you travel just beyond the city and head South West past the “Y” intersection you will be in the beginning of what is know as West Shore. Sunnyside is the first community you will reach and this is the start of Old Tahoe. There are several old cabins and homes tucked into the woods and hidden from the road. Here there are hidden paradises and little gem shops to discover too. West Shore and Sunnyside are a must see.
